I am a lifelong New Englander. Born and raised in Providence, R.I. until the age of 13. Since then, Connecticut is where I call home with my wonderful wife and my three children.
Ever since I can remember, I have had a great fascination with Early American Life. My love for American Folk Art has found its way deep into my heart beyond explanation. With the blessings of God, I have been a self taught full time artist for nearly 20 years now. Much of my work is referred to as New England Style Folk Art which I proudly embrace and accept.
Living in New England all my life has given me endless inspiration. I have co-authored and authored eleven number one best selling books on American Folk art. Three more are scheduled to be released in 2007. I am currently working with two publishing companies for books, prints, and licensed products.
In 2004, I developed my own line of candles called Primitive Scents. Recreating time in a wonderful candle line to recapture the essence of time. True “authentic” recipes and fragrances of those days gone by.
In 2007, my new company “Early American Doll Co” was born. Working with a dear friend of mine and nationally known doll maker to combine our talents to create old world primitive dolls. All 100% hand made by her and painted by myself. Limited edition and hand signed.
Whether it may be the final touch on a painting, the smile on a doll, or time in a bottle, I feel I am making a small contribution to preserve the past.
I have always acknowledged being an artist as a gift from God.
